The Riverside Food Systems Alliance is a network of people, organizations and agencies that work on projects to fill gaps in the local food system. They work together as well as individually on food, agriculture, health, and conservation projects.
RFSA has undertaken a challenge to help build a farm to fork and back to farm local economy by supporting regional programs that:
In 2014, the City of Riverside sponsored the first GrowRIVERSIDE Conference which drew a lot of attention to the local food movement and Riverside’s rich agricultural heritage. As interest grew, the City invited community partners to monthly planning workshops. Eventually, nearly 90 participants collaborated to envision a local farm to fork food system. The result was a Food Policy Action Plan. When all the goals of the plan are realized, partners will have strengthened the economy, raised awareness about healthy living, and conserved local farmland and natural resources.
